Councilwoman Hahn Opens Cheryl Green Community Youth Center
Yesterday, I participated in the opening of the Cheryl Green Community Youth Center in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Club of Harbor Gateway/Torrance. Cheryl’s death really brought to light the fact that young people needed a safe place to go in the community. That's why I worked so hard to secure the funding and donations to make this center a reality. Now, thanks to the new center, boys and girls will be able to benefit from programs that were never available to Cheryl. These kids will have a safe, fun, productive place to learn, play and grow. I can’t think of a more fitting way to honor the memory of Cheryl Green. Again, I extend my appreciation to the community members and business partners who collaborated to make this possible.
