"I have pushed the Port to adopt a variety of clean air initiatives, including the newly-implemented Clean Trucks program and the Pier Pass program, that have resulted in a dramatic decrease in harmful emissions."

 

  • Encourages sustainable development - Green business workshop, purple pipes,  working with developers to include sustainable components in their projects such as cool roofs, more landscaping, etc.

  • Held a “Water Day” in City Council to discuss the City’s efforts on water conservation and work toward solutions to address the region’s water crisis.

  • Supports Clean Trucks Program, AMP and other measures at POLA to impact air quality region-wide.

  • Negotiated TraPac agreement which creates $50 million fund for community benefits and allowed terminal project to move forward, creating “green growth” at the Port of Los Angeles..
