"I am proud to say that during my tenure in City Council, a new animal shelter, along with new fire and new police stations, have been established in San Pedro.  I also worked diligently to institute the new fire station now open in Watts, as well as the brand new public library in Harbor City."

 

  • Leading the revitilization of Jordan Downs Housing Development 
  • Obtained ball fields on Knoll Hill
  • Spearheaded San Pedro Welcome Park
  • Obtained Prop O funding to improve Harbor Regional Park
  • Worked on Bandini Canyon Project
  • Oversaw sidewalk Improvements Harbor Gateway North
  • Improved Lighting around Normandale Park community.
  • Made Normandale Park Field Improvements
  • Improved Lighting around 204th Street community
  • Improved Lighting at Rosecrans Park
  • Oversaw opening of Charles Mingus Youth Arts Center
  • Spearheaded opening of Street Skate Plaza at Wilmington Rec Center
  • Oversaw opening of 109th Street Pool (Watts)
  • Prevented recreational centers in Nickerson Gardens and Imperial Courts Recreation from closing or cutting their hours
  • Fought for Angels Gate Cultural Center 30-year lease and master plan development
  • Made improvement at Peck Park Canyon
  • Made improvements to Sunken City at Point Fermin Park
  • Stood up against Ponte Vista to preserve quality of life in surrounding neighborhood
  • Opened animal shelter in San Pedro
  • Arranged for new Target in San Pedro
  • Prevented McCowans market in San Pedro from being re-zoned for development
  • Imani Fe (Watts)
  • Oversaw restoration of Rainbow Bridge in Watts
  • Shepherded two new firestations into the community (FS 64 and 65)
  • Working with business to lessen their impact on surrounding communities (Warren E&P, liquor stores)
  • Spearheaded new Harbor Animal Shelter
  • Led in the dedication of Arvella Grigsby Place
  • Restricted unlimited parking of large RVs on residential streets
  • Arranged for new Day Laborer Site at Harbor Regional Park
  • Dedidated the Dorothy Sampson Rose Garden at the Watts Senior Center
  • Obtained new equipment for Anderson Senior Center
